A Two-Weekend Seminar for the Entire Family with Shaykh Ibrahim Zidan (حفظه الله)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
”Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.”
(Sahih Muslim)
Join us for a special two-weekend seminar for the entire family with *Shaykh Ibrahim Zidan (may Allah preserve him)* as we explore one of the greatest acts of worship: seeking beneficial knowledge. Throughout this seminar, we will discuss the virtues of knowledge, the characteristics of its people, the etiquettes required to attain it, and the profound effect that knowledge should have upon a believer’s faith, worship, and conduct.
Weekend One: The Virtues and Etiquettes of Seeking Knowledge
The first weekend will focus on the rank of knowledge and its people, the qualities of sincere students and scholars, and the manners and conduct required for one who seeks knowledge for the sake of Allah.
These discussions will be based upon a treatise by *Imam al-Ajurri (رحمه الله)* dedicated to the virtues of knowledge and the characteristics of those who carry and preserve it.
Weekend Two: Knowledge and the Fear of Allah
The second weekend will focus on the relationship between true knowledge and khashyah (reverential fear of Allah), centered around Allah’s statement:
﴾إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ﴿
“It is only those who have knowledge among His servants who truly fear Allah.”
(Surah Fatir 35:28)
We will examine how knowledge leads to humility, worship, obedience, and closeness to Allah, and why the scholars are singled out in this verse for their deep knowledge of their Lord.
These discussions will be based upon a treatise by *Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله)* dedicated to the meanings and lessons contained within this tremendous verse.
